Concrete Shaving & Scarifying

If you’re looking for a quick, inexpensive, yet permanent resolution for a problem with your concrete floor, then Shaving and Scarifying might be the answer. It’s a great way of rectifying problems such as a floor that is spalled or pitted, raised areas, or any such trip hazards.

CONCRETE SHAVING AND SCARIFYING EXPLAINED

Scarifiers are multi-purpose in that firstly they can be used to cut down concrete using metal flails, then by changing the blades they can then be used to lay down mastics or other coatings. Here at Concrete Fusion we use a self-propelled concrete shaver. With its diamond blades, it can be used to reduce the height of large areas of concrete from 1/16th to 1/4th of an inch deep and 13 foot wide. To reduce the depth further, we simply make more passes over the concrete.

By changing the blade type, we are able to provide a grooved finish for areas that require slip resistant surfaces.
